Communications

The Communications Committee carries out the Chapter's Annual Plan with respect to external communications, i.e., web site maintenance and content; listserve announcements, and press releases. The Communications Committee work requires close cooperation statewide to ensure a consistent message, up to date information, and compliance with USGBC 'brand' policy. The Chapter is planning to hire a professional to devise a complete branding strategy, with increased communications with the media and more polished web and print materials.

At the branch level, the committee should meet monthly and document actions in their minutes. A Committee of at least 3 individuals is recommended at the branch level. Committee members must be current Chapter members. A total time commitment of between 3 and 5 hrs/person/month is anticipated. In addition, the Membership Committee Chair meets by telephone with his/her counterparts in the other branches and the Board liaison. This is the statewide Membership Committee.

The Communicaitons Committee Chair at each Branch reports to: their BLG, particularly the 2 reps to the State Board, and the statewide Communications Committee Liaison, Kyle Kish; kylelkish@gmail.com
