USGBC ALabama Chapter

LEED for Homes

The Committee is closely co-ordinated statewide in order to devise and deliver a realistic and effective residential program in all Branch areas in 2009. Possible elements of the program (to be finalized in 1st Qtr) to be chosen from the listed elements in National's proposal (plus any new ideas from the Committee):

- assist the statewide Residential Advocate in preparing a quarterly market snapshot and status report

- with National's help, work towards a Memo of Understanding (MOU) with the local Home Builders' Association to put on a joint education session or other cooperative effort

- serve as an information resource to home-owners and home-builders

- with Programs Committee, plan a residential event; e.g., LEED-Homes workshop plus…

The ideal size of the Committee, frequency of meetings, and time commitment to be determined by the Statewide Residential Advocate in consultation with the Residential Committee Chairs at the Branch level. The Residential Advocate, a Chapter Board member, reports to the Board and to the Residential Market Program at National.
