Robins Morton Corporate Office Achieves LEED Gold Certification

Robins & Morton’s corporate office has received LEED GOLD-CI certification by the U.S. Green Building Council and will celebrate with a plaque dedication and reception including office tours on March 31 at 5:15. The event will take place at 400 Shades Creek Parkway in Homewood and is open to the public. If you are planning on attending, please notify Donna Glenn dglenn@robinsmorton.com. A Birmingham branch meeting outlining the new GBCI guidelines is also scheduled for March 31 at 4:00 in the Robins & Morton training center.
According to the Birmingham-based general contractor, many sustainable features were incorporated into the renovation such as utilization of 85% of local materials and diversion of 85% of construction waste from landfills. Full glass interior walls along the perimeter of the renovated space allows for 75% of offices to receive significant natural sunlight. Robins & Morton expects the numerous sustainable features to yield significant water and energy savings.
This project followed the LEED CI rating system. LEED CI (Commercial Interiors) - LEED for Commercial Interiors is the green benchmark for the tenant improvement market. It is the recognized system for certifying high-performance green interiors that are healthy, productive places to work & are less costly to operate and maintain.
